Another year of watching my nephew Blake has started very very well. I'm always so proud of this kid but this year he has outdone himself in the first week. He made the Varsity team, and he has more than shown that he deserves the spot with just 4 games under his belt. He's the Raiders Right Fielder and even though he's used to pitching, catching and infield, he has shown his true colors in the outfield.

Last week at Gordon Central he threw out the tying run at home plate from Right Field to end the game - we won, Friday night against Coosa he was squared up in RF for a drive that took a very strange bounce and he snagged it with his barehand and zapped it straight to second. In Saturday's very very long game against GC again, he did a pretty scary catch & roll (held onto the ball), had a great RBI and then a bunt that got him another RBI in the bottom of the 6th - Raiders won 16-12! This boy is a true athlete and is working so hard to be better than the year before and Thank God for him staying healthy through it all.

I'm very partial to this kid being the best but I was worried that his pre season laziness might hurt him - but somewhere in between he has worked hsi tail off and it shows!!!

Good Luck Punkarelli - we love you the mostest and whether you like it or not, we will be cheering you on every chance we get.
