Back to Reality

Well, i'm back in the US and back to the reality that I have 2 kids to tend to, a house to clean, mounds of laundry to complete, a full time job, a construction crew coming and all the events here-there-and-in-between! Shew..... It was great while it lasted. My 5 days sailing from AL to Mexico was a great vacation for me to get to relax and unwind, and to not stress about everything that has to be done; but I was homesick - I missed my babies every day and night. I decided that cruise ships aren't really my thing, or 5 days on a boat with no where but under to go isn't anyway, by the last day I was more than ready to stop rocking and be on solid ground for a while - and did I mention I missed my babies more than anything? I did catch up on some reading and decided that Nicholas Sparks just likes to make people cry with his writing, I now have to go watch the movie The Last Song just to see if Miley Cryus can live up to the Ronnie in my head. As far as Mexico, this is my second visit and I would much rather fly and hang out at a resort for a week than get on and off a boat. In Progresso, it was drizzling rain, so we toured around the flea market, bought Emery a cute mexican handmade dress, and hopped on the next bus back to the port to get out of the rain. I'm pretty sure that Progresso is a very very poor town, and they are still seriously working on their development to catch up to Cozumel, Cancun etc....
Cozumel on the other hand was a nice port to stop at, lots of tourists running around, and tons and tons of shop owners wanting you to buy buy buy! Julie, Waelyn and I toured Cozumel while the rest of our party was on a catamran doing an excursion - we didn't buy a thing but we had some interesting conversations with a few shop workers/owners trying to get us to buy something and of course they all started at the highest price they thought they could get away with, then tried to (cut us a deal) ha.ha.ha. One store owner sent 2 of his employees down 3 blocks to get us to come back and make a purchase! It didn't help us much that everything Julie picked up was at least $1000 - so needless to say we weren't making any of those purchases. After our touring and almost shopping - we relaxed on Paradise Beach and got a little sun - then back to the boat as they were honking the horn!! Fun times, but I am so thankful to be home holding my boys every night and I have vowed to never take a vacation like that without them again.
(That does exclude "Mommy's Weekend Abroad Trips")Now back to mommyhood, and back to the office to make a living - spent the warm weekend with the windows of the house open and scrubbed the place clean, completed most of the laundry - and am getting ready to hear some banging and clanging from all the hammers that are coming in a couple of weeks!
